查拉密部落地球日植香花 種出排灣傳統智慧

世界地球日前一天（21日），台東太麻里下多良的查拉密部落，與台東林區管理處合作植樹活動。事前部落阿瑪（對父執輩的尊稱）特別吩咐，要選有香氣、會開花的植物，因為查拉密傳承排灣古諺「香，是魔鬼的臭」，因此，要以香花重建香氛網、部落沿途都有香味，讓壞東西遠離。台東林管處為此準備百餘株桂花、梔子花以及七里香等香花，贈送給部落及居民，傳承排灣植樹最多人購買智慧。 查拉密部落耆老劉長老（右）及台東林區管理處副處長黃群策共同植樹。攝影：廖靜蕙
早上十點左右，剛從山上工作完畢的vuvu（高齡長輩）陸續抵達聚會所，戴上向陽工坊由腎蕨和紅藜編織而成的花冠，部落實習廚房也為植樹活動烘焙酒漬櫻桃、巧克力、堅果三種口味的餅乾，以及燒餅分贈現場來賓；另外，他們也使用當地野生月桃葉熬煮，加上糖蜜及檸檬的「月桃檸檬茶」，是部落消腫解渴的秘方。
查拉密部落（Calavig，又有瀧部落之稱，族人喜歡自稱查拉密）篤信基督信仰（天主教、基督教），部落仿天主教聖經耶穌赴刑場前的路徑，安排一條「拜苦路」，植樹當天即沿著拜苦路遍植香花。在簡單的儀式，及部落耆老劉榮治長老帶領禱告後，展開植樹活動。
劉榮治說，部落缺香花，希望林管處提供的苗木，能遍種於部落每一條路，能種得漂漂亮亮，讓遊客來覺得心情愉快。
太平洋畔的查拉密，位於已廢站的多良火車站旁，每逢假日就有不少遊客來訪；八八風災後，部落在公東高中前校長黃清泰培力下，成立向陽薪傳木工坊，讓部落族人習得木工技藝，得以發展天賦、製作精緻木藝產品；之後陸續結合部落實習廚房，讓來訪遊客多一處參訪消費的去處。
向陽工坊專案經理陳秀如表示，查拉密部落蘊含豐富的生態智慧，這幾年透過與阿瑪、vuvu交談逐一記錄，讓這些智慧不至於失傳。「查拉密是排灣族少數幾個從日治到國民政府時期，都未被遷移的部落，族人以傳承下來的生態智慧選擇在這塊土地生活。整座山處處都有值得一說的故事。」

黃群策說，國際上談生物多樣性，不只是自然資源，也包括在地的人文資源和特色。林務局近年推動國土綠網，其中里山倡議就是和在地部落合作治理山林，因為部落最了解周邊的自然資源，也最擅長利用自然資源、與之和諧共處。國際間也非常重視的農業與生物多樣性，查拉密正是一個很典型、實踐中的部落，未來能與部落合作。
台東縣是全台族群多樣性最高的縣市，族群包括：卑南、布農、排灣、魯凱、阿美、噶瑪蘭、達悟以及漢（閩、客）。刷卡購物折扣在台東林管處大武工作站邀請下，卑南鄉利嘉巡守隊也蒞臨現場族際交流。
利嘉村長林肯毅說，卑南族最喜歡族語稱為「阿尚」的植物，國語又稱為「排香草」，這種草越放越香；當族人出遠門或慰問喪家時，會先摘幾片葉子放口袋；回家進門前，先在頭上沾一點水轉三圈，然後把葉片往後丟，讓排香草將憂傷、驚恐的情緒留在背後、才能進家門。
排香草是指芙蓉、艾草之類的香草，也用於頭飾上。與漢人端午節使用的「天中五瑞」──菖蒲、艾草、石榴花、蒜頭和山丹等植物類似。
